My name is David and I’ve been at The Anchor since 2004. I love to travel, mix concerts, play music, to hike, cook, play games, sit by fires and make cocktails with friends, to tickle my children while they scream and laugh, and to watch my wife Nichole do things she loves and get to see and be a part of the joy in her.
The Anchor, for me, is a close-knit community of friends seeking together to explore who God is, and who He's made us to be. The people have always been first in The Anchor, and I like that about it. We do a service like everyone else, but we're all there for the community and to be a part of something a little bigger than ourselves.
My idea and understanding of God and Jesus has been an ever-growing journey. Like many, I have taken a long hard look at what I believe and let it be changed and also change me, but the consistent truth that has defined me is that God is with me.
I think that God is teaching and continually reminding The Anchor that it isn't what we do or don't do that is the most important, but who we are as a people, and that we remind ourselves that He is with us, and let that be our identity as a church and as people.
