The Anchor Fellowship began in the early 2000s as a community of young artists and musicians wrestling with faith, identity, belonging, and calling in the heart of downtown Nashville. The Anchor became a sacred space — not just a building, but a place where people felt safe to bring their whole selves, exploring faith through both certainty and doubt, and drawing from a wide range of traditions and backgrounds.
Our fellowship was born in a city full of creativity and questions, and we embraced both. What emerged was a church family centered around the pursuit of Jesus and the development of genuine, life-giving relationships.
Over the years, as Nashville grew and changed, so did we. For 16 years, we gathered in a historic 1850s church building downtown — a space rich with spiritual legacy. In late 2021, we entered a new chapter, moving into a transitional meeting space in Germantown, where we continued to worship Christ together with hope and expectancy. Then, in 2024, the Lord blessed us with something we had long prayed for — a property to call home.
Now, we’re entering a new chapter: rooted in place, rooted in Christ, and ready to love and serve our neighborhood. God has planted us here in Madison, and we are leaning into this new season with open hearts.
No matter what season you’re in, you’re welcome here. Whether you’re filled with faith or wrestling with questions, just beginning or returning to the journey — we would love for you to be part of this story.
Come as you are. There’s a place for you at The Anchor.
