Anchor Kids
Walking to 5th Grade
Our goal in Anchor Kids is to partner with parents to lead children to know Christ in a way that transforms their daily lives by teaching, investing, and growing in Christ.
We warmly welcome babies in our adult service and have a room just outside the sanctuary with toys and a nursing space for moms to use when needed.
We strive to make The Anchor Fellowship a place where children love to be!
Anchor Kids exists to provide a loving, safe, and Godly environment where our children can learn, grow, and place their hope in Jesus Christ. We believe they are the church of today and the leaders of tomorrow.
Given the amount of time we spend with them each week, compared to the time they spend at home, we know partnering with parents is essential. We are a family-centered community and strive to make our kids feel welcome to participate in worship and ministry time. We also know they are kids and extend grace as they learn what it looks like to join adults in worship. Although this can look chaotic at times, it's important that we set a table that welcomes all, and this includes energetic children!
Our desire is to teach (Matthew 19.14), grow (2 Peter 3.18), and invest in the lives of families (Deut. 11.19).
Kids Worship

Twice a month, we provide a kids-focused worship time.

We have a toddler-preschool (ages 2-4) focused time of worship and we have a Kindergarten to 5th grade time of worship. This allows them time to learn how to engage their bodies, heart, and minds in what worship looks like to them. These times are guided by an amazing team of worship leaders who have a heart to invest in our kids.

Twice a month, we have our 2nd-5th graders join in adult worship.

Our kids are learning how to engage in worship through song, dance, and prayer. Allowing a space for the kids to be in corporate worship with the whole community will give opportunities to have real life experience and examples of the things they are learning. As the church, we have an amazing privilege to teach our children through just being us how to worship and praise our God.
Check-In and Pick Up

We begin checking in children at 10:25am. This allows volunteers time to set up their classrooms.  If you arrive before check-in begins, we invite your kids to join the adults upstairs for a time of community.

Upon arriving, you will receive a personalized sticker for your child at the podium.

Second through 5th graders will be upstairs with their parents at the beginning of the service until worship is finished. They will be dismissed to the teacher by Brian each week (except for Kids Worship weeks).

We kindly ask that you pick up your child by 11:45am. A volunteer will ensure your sticker matches the number assigned to your child.

If the service/worship doesn’t finish by 11:45, pick up will still be by 11:45. Children are welcome upstairs during worship.
