My name is Anne Marie Carter and I moved to Nashville in the summer of 2000. I was drawn to the Anchor because I was seeking connection and community with a church and not just popping in on a Sunday for a sermon and then disappearing until the next week. I have played many different roles over the years with women’s ministry, accountant, worship, kids, connector, elder, and chili maker for conferences (one of my favorite memories).
It has been over 20 years with this community and after multiple locations to call home, one thing remains: community. I am still connected to many people who have called The Anchor home after all these years. It has been a safe space for anyone to come no matter what season of life and rest, be challenged, be loved, and feel safe.
