Are you listening?
We understand that in this culture it’s hard to hear, to sift through the noise. So, as a church, we encourage you to engage and to say yes to God. He is calling your name!
‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ - Jeremiah 33:3
HOW DO I DO THIS?
First, we are creating worship playlists - simply follow them, and allow the sounds and songs to help create space for the Holy Spirit to speak. Over the next quarter, we are focusing on intimacy. We will continue to add playlists for each quarter as a way to help facilitate space for listening to the Lord. All you have to do is listen.
Don't worry if you’re doing it right, simply engaging is a resounding, “Yes, Lord!”
WANT TO ENGAGE FURTHER?
Expose yourself to new environments of sound to allow the Spirit to move in new ways.
> Is that silence?
> Is that music with no words?
> Is that a recorded sermon?
> Is that a meeting with a mentor or new person to glean from their story?
> Is that listening to worship music?
> Is that going to a park and hearing creation speak?
“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” - Revelation 3:20
Come back to your first love! He is waiting to embrace you and reveal His extravagant love for you!
KEEP IN MIND... as you engage in this activity, a variety of things will come up. Remember, this is a process, and its only about engaging with Jesus and creating space for engagement.
Walls, blocks, past hurts... as well as dreams, new vision and encouragement that are only available from the Holy Spirit, will come up. The Father delights in you and is so excited to not only speak to you, but also hear back from you!
Here are a few thoughts, prayers and questions you can ask as you go through this process:
> “What do You want to say to me, God?”
> “What are You doing?”
> “The music/podcast/book/sermon etc. I’m listening to is bringing up ______ - Where are you in this? What do You want me to know?”
> “This silence is overwhelming/boring/hard/intimidating/deafening- Reveal Your life and Your words to me.”
> “I’m frustrated that I’m not hearing anything - Show me in new ways what you’re saying.”
This may be something you see, or experience outside of what you expect, try to be open to anything.
And of course, please reach out to the community if you need support or want to dialogue! We encourage you to share with us about what you are experiencing through this connection with God.
