A monastery is a building or complex of buildings comprising the domestic quarters and workplaces of monastics living in communities under religious vows.
Twice a year the Anchor draws from monastic traditions to intersect our busy paced lives with a slower and simpler pursuit of God called Monastery. During these set times, we open the church building 24/7 to create space and time to reconnect with God through the disciplines of worship, prayer, silence, art, study, and focused living.
We believe intentional interruptions of our daily routines to be in the presence of God can help rejuvenate our devotion to Jesus, expand our expressions as image bearers, and improve the overall health of our fellowship. While each monastery has its own unique flavor and theme, the only requirements of participants is to come with a desire to explore faith in God.
